Haakman NZ Bulbs

Supporting Haakman NZ Bulbs’ Growth with Scalable Switchboard Infrastructure.

NES recently completed a major electrical upgrade at Haakman New Zealand Bulbs Ltd, a leading grower and exporter of flower bulbs based in Edendale.  Most well known locally for their stunning tulip fields, with a proud legacy rooted in Dutch horticultural excellence, Haakman has established itself as a key player in the global flower bulb market. In recent years, they have made significant investments into expanding their processing and production capacity to meet increasing international demand.

Project Overview

As part of Haakmans' ongoing growth, NES was engaged to remove the site’s ageing switchboard and install a new, significantly larger unit. The new switchboard is designed to accommodate up to 70 individual circuits, providing Haakman with the robust capacity needed to power their expanding operations.

With future facility growth already in planning, NES ensured the new installation was scalable and future-ready, enabling seamless integration of additional connections when required. The team also took into consideration Haakman’s interest in incorporating solar energy into their energy supply, ensuring that the infrastructure would support such integration down the track.

This project reflects NES’s commitment to providing reliable, future-focused electrical solutions tailored to the unique needs of growing New Zealand businesses. It was a pleasure working alongside the Haakman team, and we look forward to supporting them through their continued expansion.
