STREET LIGHTING POLE CHECKS

Introducing
Advanced Testing
for Lighting Columns

NES has recently introduced the ColcheK2 - advanced inspection technology designed specifically for assessing the condition of planted steel lighting columns. This equipment enhances NES’s capability to deliver accurate, efficient, and non-destructive inspections at ground level and below, without the need to remove or disturb the column.

Lighting column testing services

Street lighting columns are exposed to environmental wear over time, with hidden corrosion at or below ground level being a common issue. Using the ColcheK2 system, NES can now detect corrosion, wall thinning, and other structural issues that are not visible externally. This service is suitable for steel lighting columns typically found in car parks, public walkways, private developments, and roadside environments.

Why lighting column testing matters

Ensures safety

  • Identifies potential column failure risks due to corrosion.

Reduces liability

  • Supports compliance with public safety standards and asset management requirements.

Extends column life

  • Helps avoid unnecessary replacements through condition-based maintenance.

Minimises disruption

  • Testing is non-invasive and does not require digging or disconnection.

Provides reliable data

  • Results support better decision-making for future maintenance planning.
